The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre
Unclaimed listingThe Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre is an independent registered charity located in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire, where the author lived and wrote for 36 years. Opened in 2005, the museum houses Dahl's extensive manuscript archives and features three interactive galleries aimed at inspiring creative writing and "unlocking the storymaker" in every visitor. Because it receives no regular public funding, the business operates entirely on income generated from visitor ticket sales, workshops, and gift shop purchases.

The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre
We took our children to a Home-Ed Day to learn all about the author behind some of their favourite stories. They were amazed to see Roald Dahl's real writing hut and notebooks, and hearing the staff give really engaging story time performances. It's really a perfect visit for story-loving families. We headed to the local chip shop in the centre of Great Missenden village for some lunch.
