Rectory Farm
Unclaimed listingLocated in Stanton St John just outside Oxford, Rectory Farm is a 45-acre family-run setup starting in the 1950s. Best known for its extensive Pick Your Own fields, the farm invites visitors from April to October to harvest over 30 varieties of fresh fruits, vegetables, and flowers, including strawberries, raspberries, and asparagus. Beyond the picking fields, the site features a well-stocked farm shop open from March to December that showcases homegrown produce alongside artisan goods from Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds. Families can enjoy dedicated play areas, sandpits, and a popular seasonal pumpkin patch, while the on-site Rectory Farm Café serves up a farm-to-table brunch menu alongside authentic Bengali street food. Visiting the farm is straightforward and highly accessible, as no advanced booking is required to enter the shop, café, or picking fields. To support environmental sustainability, guests are encouraged to bring their own reusable containers for picking, which also earns them a discount on their harvested crops. The estate provides ample free parking and welcomes dogs on leads in designated outdoor areas and the café, making it a highly convenient day trip for families and food lovers alike.

Rectory Farm
We headed to the 'pick your own' strawberries, as they're the right height for all our children to get involved! Once we've paid for the strawberries we've picked, we enjoyed some time in the conveniently located playground which was suitable for our 1 year old as well as our 7 year old. We did actually go last year to enjoy half-a-day in the run up to Halloween, picking our own pumpkins and getting involved in the range of activities at the annual Pumpkin Patch. The opportunity to ride on the back of a tractor is never turned down either. It's worth noting their eggs are great value too.
